GIS 5050: Week 6 Georeferencing and Editing

This week, our project involved georeferencing images of the UWF campus. I worked with both aerial and survey images. Using control points, the images were georeferenced and I learned about the RSM error calculations, and how those errors help in evaluating the accuracy of the georeferencing. Next, I edited two types of shapefiles (line and polygon) to create a building and road from the georeferenced aerial images. In this map, you can see the three georeferenced images and the building and road I created. I also created a multi-distance buffer to display a conservation zone around an eagle's nest, that has a hyperlink to an image of the nest- making the map interactive to users. Overall, this map not only documents the current state of the campus but also aids in future planning by highlighting protected areas.
