I was home sick this year, so my GIS Day was very minimal. I didn’t attend any events or meet with anyone. Instead, I just took a little time to look through a few old GIS projects and reflected on what I’ve been working on lately. It wasn’t anything structured, just a quick check-in with my own work while I rested. It was quiet, simple, and honestly a bit relaxing.
My only other GIS Day event in the past was in 2014, when I created a poster for the UWF Archaeology Institute and presented it at the Geodata Center’s GIS Day celebration. That experience was much bigger and more interactive, and this year’s version was simply different. It was quieter and something I could do from home while sick, but still meaningful in its own way.
